Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to visit Cherry Dental or PCH Dental every six months?

We recommend our patients visit us at least two times each year. These checkups give our skilled dentists and team the opportunity to examine patients’ smiles for early indicators of common oral health issues. We then partner with patients to prevent concerns or diagnose them in their earliest stages.

Should I consider dental implant supported tooth replacement?

Whether you’re missing a single tooth or a full arch of teeth, dental implant-retained replacement teeth can offer you natural looking and feeling restorations. Dental implants are metal posts used to replace the lost root system of your tooth, providing support and stability for your replacement teeth.

What is periodontal disease?

More commonly referred to as gum disease, this common oral health issue occurs when the supportive soft tissue and bone around teeth are irritated, infected, or inflamed. Overtime, the tissue pulls away from teeth leading to a wide array of oral health issues. We offer advanced periodontal therapy to renew oral health following gum disease.

Can I call if I have a dental emergency?

We encourage patients to contact us right away when they experience toothache, dental damage, or other emergency dentistry situations. If you’re unsure whether or not your concern requires urgent care, we recommend giving our team a call anyway. It’s always better to repair dental damage sooner rather than later.

How does Invisalign straighten teeth?

Unlike traditional braces that use metal brackets and wires to shift teeth into their proper alignment over the course of months or years of treatment, the Invisalign orthodontic system utilizes clear, plastic alignment trays that gently shift teeth into their ideal alignment.

What is TMJ Dysfunction?

The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the small tissues that connect the jaw to the skull bone and allow for pain free motion of the mouth. When these joints are strained or damaged, the resulting pain or impeded jaw movement is referred to as TMJ dysfunction or simply TMD. We offer a variety of treatment options to renew oral health for those patients suffering from TMD.

Do you take my insurance?

We are happy to process and file claims for most major dental insurance providers, and we offer in-network coverage for a number of benefit plans. If you’re not sure whether or not we take your insurance, don’t hesitate to ask one of our knowledgeable team members.
